Customs and Border Protection Information Notice: ACE
The following information notice was issued by CBP on November 23, 2011.
In order to process information efficiently at the time of arrival, accurate carrier conveyance information must be provided to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
It has been noted that carriers are not updating conveyance information as required. ACE trips are being transmitted with incorrect license plate data, wrong vehicle identification numbers (VINs) and other incorrect information relating to the conveyance. The transmission of incorrect data results in increased CBP processing times, border delays and false truck crossing data.
The problem can be attributed to carrier conveyance changes that are not appropriately updated in the Decal and Transponder Online Procurement System (DTOPS).
When changes occur to conveyance status, cab number, license plate number, license plate country, license plate state/province, color, C-TPAT Fast ID and/or registered owner, the information must be updated in DTOPS via the following link:
When changes have occurred to conveyance VIN, manufacturer, model, model year or transponder number, the DTOPS help desk must be contacted (This information cannot be updated online). The help desk may be contacted via telephone at (317) 298-1245 or via email at decals@dhs.gov.
