Many factories and businesses will shut down for at least a week and could last as long as 15 days. Countries such as Japan, Korea and Vietnam may also feel the impact of this holiday.
Traffic is often very congested just before the holiday. Shippers with freight inbound to China should plan ahead and schedule their shipments carefully around this holiday. Filling containers and preparing customs declaration documents well in advance of the holiday are advisable steps to take.
In China and its mainland ports, the celebrations are also expected to affect port operations in terms of loading, barging schedule and possibly product availability.
