TPL Quota Program
TPL quota is the mechanism under NAFTA that permits the duty-free import from the United States of apparel made in the United States from non-originating fabric or yarn. The Department of International Trade monitors the utilization of the quota pools and updates utilization levels weekly. As the largest customs broker to the Canadian import and export fashion community, Omnitrans provides its clients with assistance in strategizing shipping schedules to gain full benefit of this quota.
TRQ Quota Program
Canada was a participant in the WTO's agreement on Agriculture in December 1993. The Agreement requires that Canada convert its existing agricultural import controls to a system of tariff rate quotas (TRQ), which came into effect in 1995. These quotas have a complex and restrictive trading mechanism. Omnitrans is involved in several aspects of Chicken and Cheese TRQ quota management, including; trading, consulting, program qualification and government liaison.
