The 13,100-TEU Maersk Eindhoven became the latest containership casualty on the Pacific on February 17, suffering a blackout while en route to California.  The incident occurred near Japan and resulted in a loss of hundreds of containers overboard while making its way from Xiamen to Los Angeles. The crew is safe, propulsion has been restored and vessel tracking suggests the ship has turned around and is making way to an Asian port.
