BPA OFFICIALLY DECLARED TO BE A TOXIC SUBSTANCE

 

The Government of Canada has declared bisphenol A (BPA) to be a toxic substance that possesses risks to human health and the environment.  As a result, the Canadian Health and Environment Ministries confirmed that BPA has been added to Schedule 1 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999).


CRIME ALERT: LOAD BROKERING FRAUD & CARGO THEFT

 

Members of the insurance industry have reported an increase in cargo crime.  It is estimated that cargo theft is costing between $5-9 billion per year.  Cargo theft is especially on the increase in urban centres such as Montréal and Toronto.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has received official notification from the National Plant Protection Organization of Cambodia of the fraudulent use of an ISPM No. 15 logo on wood packaging material.

 

Wood-packaging material bearing the stamp KH.CPM001 MB.DB is not recognized by the NPPO of Cambodia, has not been treated

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has advised that starting April 1, 2011, the consignee / destination will be validated, and admission to Canada will be based on a complete and correct address.  The enforcement applies to good subject to CFIA requirements
