HEALTH CANADA PROPOSES TO EXPAND INGREDIENT LISTING REQUIREMENTS ON FOOD PRODUCTS

Health Canada has announced a proposal to expand food-labelling requirements to include components of ingredients that often go undeclared.

The strengthened labelling regulations are intended to reduce the number of food recalls and allergic reactions by requiring raw materials to be included in the ingredients list on food products (e.g. eggs, milk, peanuts).
