Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. In addition to China, LNY is also celebrated in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, and Indonesia; it consists of a period of celebrations, starting on New Year’s Day, as well as on the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar.
