OCEAN FREIGHT GENERAL RATE INCREASES & CURRENCY ADJUSTMENT FACTOR

In an effort to partially reverse the recent erosion of freight rates in the Asia-Canada market, container shipping lines in the Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (CTSA) have agreed on the need for a general rate increase (GRI), effective August, 2009.

Far East & India Subcontinent (via Vancouver / Prince Rupert):
Effective August 1st, 2009

The GRI will apply to all inland point intermodal (IPI), mini-land bridge (MLB) and East Coast all-water cargo:

LCL: $7.00
20′: $ 300.00
40’S: $ 400.00
40’HC: $ 500.00
45’HC: $ 510.00

India Subcontinent (via Halifax):
Effective August 1st, 2009
GRI will apply to all inland point intermodal (IPI), mini-land bridge (MLB) and East Coast all-water cargo:

LCL: $ 10.00
20′: $ 400.00
40’S: $ 500.00
40’HC: $ 563.00
45’HC: $ 640.00

CAF from Asia and Indian Sub-Continent to all Canadian destinations, via East or West Coast, including local Vancouver:
Effective August 1st, 2009: 2%
Effective September 1st, 2009: 1%

Far East & India Subcontinent to Local Vancouver:
Effective August 10th, 2009

The GRI will apply to all cargo to local Vancouver:

40’S: $ 400.00
40’HC: $ 500.00
45’HC: $ 510.00
