PROVISIONAL ANTI-DUMPING DUTY IS PAYABLE ON INNERSPRING MATTRESS UNITS FROM CHINA
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) made a preliminary determination of injury respecting mattress innerspring units originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China. As a result, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will collect provisional duty (as of July 27, 2009) pending the outcome of the injury investigation.
The CITT is conducting a full inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic producers of mattress innerspring units, and will make an order or finding by November 25, 2009. Interested parties wishing to participate in the inquiry and hearing must file a notice of participation with the CITT on or before August 12, 2009. Requests for product exclusions are due no later than September 22, 2009.
Subject goods are defined as:
• Mattress innerspring units with or without edgeguards, used in the manufacture of innerspring mattresses, originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China.
These goods are usually classified under the following HS classification numbers: 73220.127.116.11, 9404.10.00.00 and 9404.29.00.00.
