TRANSPACIFIC CARRIERS ANNOUNCE INCREASE IN BAF SURCHARGES
Effective July 1, 2008, CTSA carrier members will increase the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) on ocean freight from Asia and the Indian sub-continent as follows:
D20: US$ 70.00
D40: US$ 90.00
D40H: US$ 100.00
D45′ J: US$ 115.00
Surcharges are implemented by steamship lines and are required to help carriers adjust to increasing fuel costs and fluctuating currencies.
We will continue to monitor the situation and notify you when changes to the BAF are announced.
