Transpacific Ocean Carriers Remove PSS on Canadian Import Freight effective February 1, 2011
Effective February 1st, 2011; Transpacific carriers have announced that the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will be reduced to $0 on shipments from the Far East to Canada via Vancouver and Prince Rupert.
Omnitrans will not bill PSS on any shipments sailing from the Far East on or after February 1st, 2011 discharging in Vancouver or Prince Rupert (for both local and MLB/IPI shipments).
We are in the process of revising all current Omnitrans Import Ocean Freight Services Quotations; while some quotes still show an applicable PSS, it will not be billed on shipments sailing on or after February 1st, 2011 from the Far East to Canada via Vancouver and Prince Rupert.
We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as new developments arise.
