(2026-02-05) IMPORTANT NOTICE: PORT DISRUPTION AT CHATTOGRAM PORT

Dear Valued Customer,

We would like to keep you informed of the current situation at Chattogram Port. Due to ongoing labor protests that began in connection with the proposed lease of the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT), port operations and container movements are experiencing disruptions. As a result, operations at Chittagong Port are currently experiencing significant disruptions due to an ongoing work stoppage by port workers and employees.

Operations at the General Cargo Berth (GCB), Chittagong Container Terminal (CCT), and New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) have come to a complete halt. Container handling, vessel berthing, and departures at these terminals have been suspended, resulting in no loading or unloading of cargo.

As of today, vessel movement at these terminals has remained stopped for the second consecutive day with no end in sight. Customers are advised to anticipate delays in cargo handling and vessel schedules related to the affected terminals

A meeting between the protesters and the Shipping Advisor is scheduled for today at 10:00 am. Further updates and guidance are expected following this discussion.

We are closely monitoring developments and remain in continuous communication with relevant parties.

At this stage, no immediate action is required from your side. We will provide timely updates should there be any changes or further clarity.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your customer service representative.

Kind regards, OMNITRANS INC
