Please be advised that unionized employees at ZIM Integrated Shipping Services have initiated a full strike at the company’s headquarters in Haifa, escalating from a warning strike earlier this week. As a result, vessel loading and unloading activities have been halted, and port operations are currently disrupted at Port of Ashdod and Port of Haifa, with some vessels remaining idle and vessels already alongside not being discharged.
The labor action follows the announced acquisition of ZIM by Hapag-Lloyd in partnership with FIMI Opportunity Fund. Under the proposed structure, ZIM’s Israeli operations will be separated into a new entity that will operate 16 vessels to maintain direct maritime links for Israel.
Customers may experience delays to vessel operations, cargo handling, and port activity for shipments moving through affected Israeli ports.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as needed.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your customer service representative.
Kind regards,
