On February 27, 2026, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), under authority of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), made preliminary determinations of dumping and subsidizing respecting thermoformed molded fibre tableware originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China.
Provisional anti-dumping and countervailing duties totaling between 25.2% and 37.9% for select exporters, and 53.7% for all other exporters, are now payable on the subject goods that are released from customs on or after February 27th, 2026.
The subject goods are usually imported under the following tariff classification numbers:
4823.61.00.00
4823.69.00.90
4823.70.00.00
4823.90.00.90
On June 26, 2026, the Tribunal will determine whether the dumping and subsidizing have caused injury or detriment or are threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
More information about these investigations will be contained in a Statement of Reasons, which will be available within 15 days on CBSA’s Measures in Force page.
