In January 2026, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of its finding made in February 2021 concerning the dumping of certain heavy steel plate from Chinese Taipei and Germany
Following the Tribunals initiation, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) started it's expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the goods.
The CBSA's investigation has now been completed and the Agency has determined that the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of such goods from Chinese Taipei and Germany.
The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its order is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and will issue its decision by November 10, 2026.
