(2026-06-26) CBSA initiates dumping investigation on wheat gluten from Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an investigation respecting the alleged injurious dumping of wheat gluten originating in or exported from Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom.

The CBSA's investigation follow a complaint filed by a Canadian manufacturer. Dumping by foreign exporters can harm Canadian industries by undercutting Canadian prices, which undermines fair competition.

In the next step of the investigations the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will determine, by August 18, 2026, whether the imports are harming Canadian producers.

Concurrently, the CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being sold in Canada at unfair prices, subsidized, or both, and will make a preliminary decision by September 17, 2026.

Provisional anti-dumping duties could eventually apply to importations of the goods under investigation.
