On October 7, 2024, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of its order made in October 2019 concerning the dumping of hot-rolled carbon steel plate originating in or exported from Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Romania.
Following the Tribunals decision, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the goods.
The investigation has now been completed and the CBSA has determined that the expiry of the order is unlikely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of such goods originating in or exported from Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Romania.
The CITT will not consider these goods in its determination of the likelihood of material injury and will make an order to rescind the order in respect of these goods. Therefore, anti-dumping duties will not be applicable on importations of these goods from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Romania as of the date that the order is rescinded.
