CBSA issues dumping/subsidising determination on PET resin from China and Pakistan.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made preliminary determinations of dumping respecting polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin originating in or exported from China and Pakistan, and of subsidizing of PET resin originating in or exported from China.

Provisional duties at rates ranging from 84.5% to 128.8% will now be payable on the subject goods that are released from customs on or after June 17, 2025.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will now formally determine, by October 15, 2025, if the dumping and subsidising are causing prejudice to Canadian industry.
