CFIA Directive Revised to Include a Shipborne Dunnage Option.

D-13-01 Revised to Include a Shipborne Dunnage Option

This message is to inform you that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) directive D-13-01: Canadian Heat-Treated Wood Products Certification Program (HT program) has been updated and is now available on the CFIA’s website.

This directive has been revised to outline the shipborne dunnage program, and its requirements, and to update the language on HT requirements to better align with ISPM 15.

The Canadian Heat-Treated Wood Products Certification Program (HT program) is administered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to meet foreign phytosanitary import requirements for heat-treated wood products. The directive outlines the requirements facilities must meet to produce and handle wood treated to a minimum temperature of 56°C for at least 30 minutes, in line with the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15). Additional phytosanitary requirements may be prescribed by some National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPOs).

We thank you for taking note of this update.
