Shipment impacts during Air Canada and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) labour negotiation
Air Canada is starting to cancel some international flights ahead of a planned flight attendants’ strike set for Saturday 12:01am.
The strike is expected to halt flights and cause significant disruption for both travelers and cargo shipments.
By the weekend, more than 500 flights could be canceled, affecting thousands of passengers and delaying deliveries of pharmaceuticals, fresh food, manufacturing parts, and other essential goods.
If the strike goes ahead, the airline expects it could take up to a week to get operations fully back on track.
