Tribunal initiates review of expiry of duties on concrete reinforcing bar from three countries.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of its order made in October 2020 to determine if the expiry of the order is likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping of concrete reinforcing bar from China, South Korea and Türkiye, or subsidizing of the aforementioned goods from China, and if this would likely result in injury to Canadian industry.

In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by December 24, 2025, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping or subsidizing if the Tribunal's order is left to expire.

In the event of a positive determination by the CBSA the Tribunal will determine, by June 2, 2026, whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.
