Tribunal initiates review of expiry of duties on copper tube from five countries
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding concerning the dumping of certain circular copper tube originating in or exported from Brazil, Greece, China, the Republic of Korea and Mexico, and the subsidizing of those goods from China. The Tribunal's finding imposed anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties on these goods.
In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by January 9, 2025, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping or subsidizing if the Tribunal's order is left to expire.
In the event of a positive determination, the Tribunal will determine, no later than June 18, 2025, whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.
